Martin Dewez, CIA, CISA, is Partner, Internal Audit, leading the Business Risk Services (BRS) practice at Grant Thornton Luxembourg.

Martin is specialised in Internal audit services, Governance, Risk Management and Regulatory Services, Special Attestation Services, Compliance with regulatory requirements and External Quality Assessment Review.

With more than 10 years of experience in internal audit services, Martin has been serving a varied portfolio of clients (under both outsourcing and co-sourcing operating models), covering most types of regulated financial institutions in Luxembourg, including credit institutions, investment firms, investment fund managers, specialised and support PFS, payment institutions as well as reinsurance captives.

Martin is a Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) from IIA and Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) from ISACA as well as an ISO27001 provisional auditor. He holds a Master in Banking & Asset Management (University of Liège (HEC)) and has joined Grant Thornton in 2014.

Today Martin leads the day-to-day operations of the BRS practice and a team of internal audit professionals and ensures the smooth and complete delivery of internal audit reviews, to our portfolio of clients (+/- 50 CSSF-supervised entities), while ensuring alignment with the professional standards and the Code of Ethics issued by the Institute of Internal Auditors.

He holds a solid experience and understanding of the Luxembourg regulatory environment and regulatory requirements on key topics such as among others governance, regulatory compliance, risk management, internal and administrative organisation, AML/CFT, information technology general controls, portfolio management and MiFID II, credit activities, loan servicing, AIFM directive, etc. including key controls and practices thereof.
